Frederick sits outside the WSSC service area, so the permit process that covers Mallick's Montgomery County work does not transfer here. In the county, plumbing permits are issued and inspected by Frederick County Permits and Inspections; inside the City of Frederick, the city runs its own permit office.

How long do bathroom fixtures last?
Around fifteen to twenty years, depending on build quality, use and maintenance. The mechanical parts inside — valves, seals and cartridges — will usually need attention once or twice inside that span, which is wear rather than failure.
Why should I not install a fixture myself?
Because removal is the risky half. A tub or a built-in sink needs careful demolition, and a fixture that is not seated properly leaks into the subfloor or the ceiling below, where you will not see it until there is rot or mould. Work that misses code also becomes a problem when the house is sold.
Can I replace just the shower without redoing the bathroom?
